Step 1: Install the RDS Roles<\/span>.<\/span>
\n<\/strong>a). Open Server Manager:
\n<\/strong><\/span>Open the Server Manager by clicking on the Server Manager icon on the taskbar or using the Start menu.
\nb). Add Roles and Features:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>In Server Manager, click on “Manage” and select “Add Roles and Features.”
\nc). Role-Based or Feature-Based Installation:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Choose “Role-based or feature-based installation” and click “Next.”
\nd). Select the Server:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Choose the server where you want to install RDS and click “Next.”
\ne). Select Role:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Scroll down and select “Remote Desktop Services,” then click “Next.”
\nf). Role Services:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Choose the role services you want to install. At a minimum, select “Remote Desktop Session Host” (RD Session Host). You may also need to install other roles based on your requirements. Click “Next.”
\ng). Confirmation:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Review your selections and click “Install.”
\nh). Installation Progress:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Wait for the installation to complete.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Configure RDS<\/span><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/em>a). Configure RD Licensing:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>* After the installation is complete, go back to Server Manager.
\n* Click on “Remote Desktop Services” in the left pane, and then click on “Overview.”
\n* Click on the “Tasks” drop-down menu and choose “RD Licensing Manager.”
\n* Follow the wizard to install and configure the Remote Desktop Licensing server.
\nb). Configure RD Session Host:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>* In Server Manager, go to “Remote Desktop Services” > “Overview.”
\n* Click on the “Tasks” drop-down menu and choose “RD Session Host Configuration.”
\n* Configure the session settings, licensing mode, and user\/group access.
\nc). Configure RemoteApp (Optional):<\/span>
\n<\/strong>* If you want to use RemoteApp, go to “Remote Desktop Services” > “Overview” in Server Manager.
\n* Click on the “Tasks” drop-down menu and choose “RemoteApp Manager.” Follow the wizard to set up RemoteApp programs.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Configure Remote Desktop Gateway (Optional)<\/span>.<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/span>a). Install Remote Desktop Gateway:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>* In Server Manager, go to “Remote Desktop Services” > “Overview.”
\n* Click on the “Tasks” drop-down menu and choose “Add RD Gateway.”
\n* Follow the wizard to install and configure the RD Gateway.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Configure Remote Desktop Web Access (Optional).<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/em><\/span>a). Install Remote Desktop Web Access:<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/em><\/span>* In Server Manager, go to “Remote Desktop Services” > “Overview.”
\n* Click on the “Tasks” drop-down menu and choose “Add RD Web Access.”
\n* Follow the wizard to install and configure RD Web Access<\/p>\n

Step 5: Verify Configuration.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/em>a). Check RDS Status:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>In Server Manager, go to “Remote Desktop Services” > “Overview” to ensure that all roles are installed and configured correctly.
\nb). Test Remote Desktop Connection:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Use a Remote Desktop client to connect to the server and verify that you can access remote sessions or applications.<\/p>\n
